About this Event
The world knows Auburn Avenue as the street where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born, played, preached, and lies in rest, but Sweet Auburn and it's residents influenced who he was. The epicenter of African American Atlanta in the early 20th century, it holds the stories of Black Atlanta's schools, businesses, churches, banks, restaurants and so much more.
Join me on this 1.25 mile walking tour to learn about Auburn Avenue, how it was shaped by a race massacre and great fire, and the men and women who made it special.
Please be aware that this route is one-way and starts and ends at different locations.
