Swara – Music for Life is an initiative of Banyan Tree for the tier two cities of India which are usually deprived of musical feasts. This aptly titled festival, has featured not just the great masters but also the best of upcoming talent in each city in order to encourage them.
Another unique feature of this festival is that it presents both the Hindustani and Carnatic streams of music to create greater awareness and audiences for both the streams across the country. Since its inception 12 years ago this festival has travelled to Visakhapatnam, Nagpur, Lucknow, Surat, Coimbatore, Mysore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Guwahati, Trichy, Varanasi,Hubli & Dharwad
Swara – Music for Life to the vibrant city of Hubli to celebrate the rich musical heritage of the Hubli-Dharwad belt.This is an especially important effort, owing to the place that the Hubli-Dharwad belt holds in the development and history of Hindustani Classical Music.
