About this Event
The novel Swallow is based on the remarkable true story of convict and pirate William Swallow, which unfolded at Tasmania’s Recherche Bay.
This talk will offer insights into the process of writing historical fiction, and will include readings from the archival documents that informed the novel’s story. This will be followed by a Q&A with the audience. Hosted by actor Nate Gothard.
Copies of Swallow will be available for purchase and signing. Refreshments will be available.
"Fast-paced and fascinating, Swallow offers both drama and historical insight. Burnham’s debut combines a sharp eye for period detail with a willingness to confront difficult truths." - Katy Briggs, Books+Publishing.
