ABOUT SWABY

Shernett Swaby is a Fashion Artist who was born in Jamaica, grew up in Canada and is now based in Chicago. She started sewing at age eight, making clothing for her dolls and mending her own. She learned to sew by watching her mother who was a local seamstress.
Since then she has been professionally perfecting her craft. Her mission is to use a detailed oriented collection to promote and celebrate individualism in the fashion industry. Swaby’s work is edgy with a wearable artistic flair.

Her work has been featured in local and international magazines and she was a top 5 finalist on PROJECT RUNWAY, the television series.

Shernett opened her first boutique inToronto in 1999. Her Chicago boutique opened in 2009. Since the Pandemic, both stores have now been relocated to Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood and the second in Winnetka, IL. They still cater to fashion forward customers who are open to pushing the creative limits of their individual style. By booking an appointment at the Swaby showroom you have automatically bought into free alterations for the life of each garment you purchase. Never mind our generation has come to grips with the fact that pretty much everything we consume is mass produced, French born, Chicago based jewelry designer Delphine Pontvieux begs to differ that there is a spot to be filled to cater to discerning people who are still looking for something truly unique.

Every NYET piece of leather jewelry or accessory is handmade by her in her Chicago workshop, with love, patience and the individual attention they deserve, with carefully selected hides and hardware that are made to last.

Pontvieux creates the designs, dyes her own leather with eco-friendly dyes, and produces each piece from scratch. As you browse this website, never hesitate to contact Delphine, as she takes pride in developing relationships with her customers and loves to dialogue with you.
