Plainly said, yet lyrically abundant, SUZANNE VALLIE’s songs sway with influences from folk-country, pop, and soul. Since opening for Adrianne Lenker (of Big Thief) on her East coast tour in 2024, Vallie has sought-out intimate DIY performance spaces, where she sings at her keyboard. Suzanne’s dusky voice, homemade delivery, and individual imagery have brought comparisons to artists who dip outside of time and genre, such as Karen Dalton, Daisy Rickman, Arthur Russell, and Vashti Bunyan.
Raised in South Dakota with many years lived in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Suzanne spent a decade living in remote, coastal California. Suzanne’s well-received 2020 release, Love Lives Where Rules Die was called a “folk rock masterpiece.” by Laura Barton in The Guardian.
Suzanne’s follow-up album, Moonshiner Springs, is currently only available on vinyl, sold exclusively in-person at her performances. Made with trusted musical friends, the production of Moonshiner Springs is lush, yet hand-stitched, colored by familial studio sessions and in-the-moment home recordings. Produced by Carly Bond (Meerna), Moonshiner Springs includes an artful collaboration with Mat Davidson (Twain, Adrianne Lenker) on harmonies, violin, and pedal steel.
