This course introduces participants to the role of finance and capital market in a transition to sustainable, climate-resilient and green economy. The financial risks posed by not realizing environmental and sustainability agendas and the warming climate as well are increasingly focused on companies, regulators, supervisors and governments. Sustainable, green and climate finance will present opportunities too for companies and investors by aligning financing and investments with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. This course will engage students critically with the systems, theories, analysis, and decision making strategies in sustainable finance agendas. Thus it will help them to gain the skills necessary to work in this cutting-edge area of finance that is increasingly becoming important for financial institutions and authorities around the world.The course will help participants to develop a sound knowledge of key concepts, challenges, and initiatives in sustainable, green and climate finance that will equip them to take investment decisions and align portfolios by sustainability and climate related goals.
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 6.30 PM to 9.30 PM starting 1 April 2025 at BICM Campus (34 Topkhana Road, Dhaka - 1000).
