Wealden District Council in association with the Centre for Sustainable Energy and Action in Rural Sussex are teaming up to offer a one-day workshop on improving energy efficiency in Wealden based community buildings.
What the workshop will cover:
· How to look at and understand your building.
· Common issues, repair and maintenance.
· Considerations and improvements for healthier, sustainable, resilient buildings.
· Heating and ventilation systems.
· Solar panels and batteries.
· Protected buildings – Listed and conservation areas.
· People, energy, buildings, climate: how they all link together.
· What to look for in a good survey, questions to ask assessors/installers.
· Accessing sources of support.
Who should attend:
Anyone with an interest in improving the energy efficiency of community buildings based in Wealden. This will be an interactive learning event enabling you to discuss your own community building and reflect on how you could potentially improve energy efficiency for everyone using that space.
About the trainer:
Steve Cole, Retrofit Project Manager, is a member of the Charted institute of building (CIOB), a qualified retrofit coordinator and heritage professional with an MSc in Sustainability and adaptation in the built environment with over 20 years’ experience of working in construction. Specialising in non-domestic community building retrofit, Steve is one The Centre for Sustainable Energy’s lead trainers delivering workshops for social investors, community groups, Energy advice organisations and national bodies such as Historic England.
