Cornwall is rapidly becoming known as a centre for excellence in clean growth and is at the forefront of tackling Climate Change. The Council’s overarching mission is to create a carbon neutral Cornwall where everyone can start well, live well and age well. And we are all invested in making that happen.
SCAP is a regional steering group to advise, influence and steer sustainable construction, training, development, and education in the region. Join this panel meeting, comprised of industry leaders in construction, social housing, renewables and training and education, to help formulate a coordinated and urgently needed response to the climate crisis.

Homes are responsible for 21% of Cornwall’s CO2 emissions and with approximately 290,000 homes in Cornwall we cannot underestimate the scale and the complexities of this challenge.
This work has now begun and this SCAP meeting will focus on housing decarbonisation, retrofit and the technologies involved, and where gaps and potential opportunities may lie in the supply chain and workforce.
We are delighted to announce that Jennie Stopford, Housing Decarbonisation Strategic Lead for Cornwall Council, and Etude Consultancy, will be unveiling the Strategic Plan for Decarbonising Cornwall's Housing Stock at SCAP. This is a hugely important and fascinating piece of work, with far reaching implications for the people of Cornwall, the construction and retrofit industry, and the climate.
This event is supported by the SPF Construction Skills Hub. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
