Sustainability Series: Big Night, Save the Amphibians!

Each spring, frogs and salamanders awaken from their winter rest and some species begin an incredible journey. On the first warm, rainy night, these amphibians travel up to a half mile through the woods toward wetlands and pools to lay their eggs — sometimes crossing busy roads along the way. Volunteers across Maine gather on this “Big Night” to help these tiny creatures safely reach their destinations. Join us to learn more about how you can lend a hand.
