About this Event
Join us at Neath Port Talbot College for a focused session exploring how sustainability is being put into action across Welsh industry.
Speakers
Eoin Bailey – Innovation and Circular Economy Lead, 7 Steel UK
Nicola – Tata Steel
In this joint session, Eoin and Nicola will explore the role steel plays in the transition to a lower-carbon economy. Eoin will highlight how circular economy principles are reshaping steel production through recycling, smarter design and improved resource efficiency. Nicola will discuss how Welsh steel is supporting major renewable energy developments, including collaboration with RWE to explore steel components for floating offshore wind projects in the Celtic Sea.
Together they will discuss how collaboration between manufacturers, energy developers and supply chains can accelerate industrial decarbonisation while creating new economic opportunities for Wales, with Port Talbot remaining central to the future of Welsh steelmaking.
Simon Nurse – Capital Coated Steel
Simon will share the story behind Capital Coated Steel’s Biodiversity and Wellbeing Garden, created at their production site to support biodiversity while providing a wellbeing space for employees. The project demonstrates how even industrial environments can take practical steps to integrate sustainability into everyday operations.
