SUSTAIN OUR PASSION IN COMMUNITY BUILDING

The Purpose

Building a community with purpose is a journey of highs and lows. It’s easy to begin with

passion, but sustaining it can be draining. As community builders, it’s essential not only to

focus on growth but also to care for ourselves along the way.

In this space, we’ll share lessons learned, reflect on what growth truly means, and inspire

each other with our stories using the World Café format. By the end of the session,

participants will co-create advice for other community builders.

Who should be joining?

● Community builders who are leading or growing communities, and eager to connect,

exchange experiences, and find ways to support themselves and each other in their

roles.

☕What is World Cafe?

● World Cafe is a discussion format driven by intentionally crafted questions, designed

for 12 or more people to Think Together.

● In the process, participants are divided into small groups to discuss a question, and

then join a new group to discuss the next one. There will be three rounds, each 15 to

20 minutes.

● After that, everyone comes together to share what they learned. We'll be able to take

home the main ideas, themes, and insights that emerged from the discussions.

What can you expect?

● 6pm doors open - Networking, and refreshment. Please arrive by 7pm to join the

discussion.

● 7pm-8:30pm World Cafe Part 1: Discussion

● 8:30pm-9pm World Cafe Part 2: Harvest

What is the cost?

● HKD 150 per person. You can enjoy the coffee, tea provided in the ESG Innovation

lab.

Shirley Lam is a facilitation advocate and a World Café host (Instagram @worldcafecat). She

believes in the potential of thinking together by empowering individuals to apply facilitation

techniques in their workplaces, driving better collaboration.

By day, she thrives as a remote digital marketer; by night, she hosts World Cafes for

communities. Both allow her to design ways to connect people and make collaboration
