About this Event
Join us for Suspended Harmony, an evening of shibari and music that will delight your senses and push the boundaries of the ordinary.
Live musicians will improvise and inspire the interplay between four groups of rope artists and their models. This harmony of shibari artistry and music will take you on a journey of sincere human connectivity and real-time creativity, as the two disciplines collaborate and play in concert.
After the performances, the space will open to Toronto’s shibari community for a rope jam, with the usual Birdhaus array of suspension points available. Energetic beats and great drinks will continue to flow throughout the night and everyone is welcome to stay.
Shibari is a Japanese art form with a complex history stretching back hundreds of years. In a beautiful display of trust and vulnerability a rope artist works with a model, often suspending them in mid-air, blending rope techniques and the human body’s natural landscape to create a range of stunning poses.
Come and join us for beauty beyond the ordinary.
