Surya Namaskara, or Salutation to the Sun, is an important yogic practice, dating back to the Vedic period. These 12 postures are woven together to generate prana, or life force, within the body, to purify, heal and generate vitality. Jane will guide you through the full practice including surya and bija mantras, points of concentration and rhythmic namaskars with the drum.
We will begin with settling in with breathwork and body scan, breaking down each of the postures and exploring the many health benefits of this ancient practice. We will also touch upon the different styles of Surya Namaskara.
