Learn new tools and practices for writing in a trauma informed, safe space. The workshops are also held in an accessible venue.
The sessions are consecutive, so the course works best if you come along to all 4.
Please note this series' is FLINTA only (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Nonbinary, Trans and Agender)
Costings for the sessions:
Free - always available
£5 - suggested donation for someone in part time or no work
£10 - suggested donation for someone with a sufficient wage
£20 - solidarity donation for those who can afford it, to help cover the costs of those who can't
Suggested donation is £20 for all 4 sessions but we want everyone to be able to access the course, so if you can't pay, don't! Solidarity matters in community spaces, too, so if you can pay more you'll be helping someone else access the course.
T he workshops are trauma informed and designed to give survivors the tools to take away and write - but there's no obligation to write specifically about your trauma. It's a safe space, held by fellow survivors, where the impact of trauma is understood and given room.
T he facilitator has a level 3 counselling diploma and an MA in creative writing, is safeguarding trained and is an experienced facilitator. We can hold space for you safely.
W e'll explore methods such as journalling and free-writing, using prompts and more over the course of three sessions.
No writing experience is necessary, as this workshop is focused on providing a supportive and non-judgmental environment for everyone. Share your thoughts, explore your creativity, and connect with others who have similar experiences. Bring a pen and a notebook along with you! These can be provided if you don't have one.
A testimonial from an attendee: '' I was grateful that I attended the workshops as they helped me re-engage with coping mechanisms and look at the trauma afresh. Not to lay the trauma to rest exactly, but the workshops helped me refocus through writing on the positives. Abbie provided a safe space and environment for us to be open and be in the knowledge that everyone in the room had experienced trauma and could emphasise with each other. ''
''I have no words to thank you for the space you have created, it has been valuable to an immeasurable extent. The workshops have allowed me to address some well-buried trauma and gave me the strength to continue accepting and healing myself. Thank you so much. ''
Our people are not tech people... so we haven't sussed out Eventbrite. Booking for this session reserves you a spot on all 4 sessions! If you would like to book on but have missed the first session, if there is still space that's fine! But please message us so we can catch you up before the session.
Love and Rage is a safe, anti-patriarchal space and is led by LGBTQIA+ and women's voices. Any homophobia, transphobia, misogyny or any attitudes that may make other participants feel unsafe will not be tolerated.
