What is the survival and solidairy school at Unassigned Gallery?
With the growing need for community resilience, free third spaces and mutual aid we bring a deviation from the usual programming - with survival and solidarity school.
Inspired by a survival school in the 60’s in Fitzroy, and knowing that having practical essential skills and knowledge is more important than ever, this will be a time and space for learning, developing and practicing, and being a part of community.
We will be hosting two sessions in December (dates TBC) with workshops and open studio time, to experiment and practice your skills.
In this context survival and solidarity means creating mutual support and sharing resources to continue to exist despite changing and challenging circumstances.
There is so much knowledge and care within our community and we believe that bringing people into this knowledge sharing system is a form of activism, resistance and hope.
