Celebrating global music, diversity, and culture through three unforgettable days of rhythm, connection, and world-class performances in the heart of Ottawa.
🌿SURARAS DO TAPAJÓS (Brazil / Amazonia)🌿
Direct from the Brazilian Amazon, Suraras do Tapajós is Brazil’s first all-Indigenous women’s carimbó group, bringing to the stage a powerful celebration of ancestry, resistance, nature, and women’s leadership.
Formed in 2018, the group emerged as a bold expression of Indigenous women’s voices, echoing far beyond their territories through music, storytelling, and activism. Through original songs and beloved rhythms from the Amazon region, the Suraras sing about women’s rights, environmental protection, the defense of Indigenous territories, and the preservation of ancestral knowledge.
Their performances are vibrant, joyful, and deeply moving — blending the rhythms of carimbó, one of Pará’s most beloved cultural traditions, with the sounds, stories, and musicality of the forest. The stage becomes a living celebration of Indigenous women’s experiences, strength, and connection to the land.
🌎For the first time in Ottawa, audiences will experience this extraordinary and rare group direct from one of the most remote regions of Brazil — a truly unforgettable cultural encounter.

✨Opening Performance: JØY Brandt✨
JØY Brandt is a Brazilian-Canadian singer-songwriter based in Toronto, whose music beautifully bridges Brazil and Canada.
Winner of the 2025 Pernambuco Music Award (Best MPB Single for “A Calma Acalma”) and the Brazilian Music Professionals Award for MPB Artist, JØY blends the rich traditions of Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) with a contemporary and universal sound.
Drawing inspiration from the vibrant cultural heritage of Northeastern Brazil, her music moves fluidly through Afro-pop, folk, and Latin rhythms, creating an intimate and powerful opening to the evening.
