A free and collaborative learning session for youth professionalsAbout this Event
Join us for a morning of insight, collaboration, and practical strategies focused on understanding and addressing youth gambling.
As gambling becomes increasingly embedded in digital spaces, gaming, and everyday environments, youth are being exposed earlier and more frequently than ever before. From online platforms and advertisements to sports betting and in-game mechanics, the landscape is rapidly evolving — and so are the challenges faced by those working with youth.
This session brings together educators, community partners, and youth-serving professionals to explore how we can better support young people through informed, proactive, and collaborative approaches.
Why this matters
- Youth can access gambling and gambling-like activities despite age restrictions
- Ontario teens are 5× more likely than adults to develop severe gambling problems
- Gambling mechanics are integrated into video games and digital platforms youth use daily
This is a growing issue — and we all have a role to play.

By attending, you will:
- Understand current trends in youth gambling
- Learn how gambling appears in gaming and online environments
- Explore practical, harm-reduction approaches
