About this Event
Join us for a free in person workshop all about supporting your child's sleep.
This Building Resilience project workshop is for parents of children and young people (0-25) with disabilities or additional needs living in Wales (with and without a diagnosis). Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Sleep difficulties are common in children and even more prevalent among those with additional needs. When a child struggles to fall or stay asleep, it can affect the wellbeing of the whole family.
This is a bespoke workshop in North Wales led by Dr Marc Johnson of Clinical Wellness and the Contact Cymru team, this workshop will cover:
- Understanding the anatomy of sleep
- Common sleep issues and possible causes
- Practical strategies to help your child improve their sleep
- looking at the importance of sleep and tips to support nightime routines
- what to do if the problem worsens, or who to see if there is no improvement
The session will be interactive and there will be time for questions, as well as signposting to further sources of support.
Warm drinks and a buffet will be provided to all attendees.
Unfortunately, we do not have childcare facilities, this is a session for adults only so please make alternative arrangements for childcare during the workshop.
Contact: We are Contact, the UK charity for families with disabled children. We support families with the best possible guidance and information. We bring families together to support each other. And we help families to campaign, volunteer and fundraise to improve life for themselves and others.
