About this Event

A child's experience in foster care is multifaceted and can be positive or negative depending on individual circumstances and support systems. While some children may find foster care to be a source of safety and stability, others may struggle with the instability of placement changes, feelings of separation, and the challenges of building trust with new caregivers.

Children who have been in care often face poorer outcomes in areas like education, mental and physical health, and social and economic well-being compared to children who have not been in care. This includes challenges with finding stable housing, higher rates of unemployment, and difficulties with transitioning to adulthood. While care can provide a necessary safety net, the experiences and transitions associated with care can have lasting impacts on various aspects of a child's life.

Education plays a crucial role in supporting children in care, offering them a pathway to better life outcomes and helping them overcome challenges stemming from past experiences. By ensuring access to quality education, supporting their individual needs, and fostering a positive learning environment, educators can help children in care achieve their potential and build brighter futures.
