Dr. Hafiz Asif is an award-winning researcher and educator whose work bridges Responsible AI, data privacy, and real-world innovation. He has developed cutting-edge systems that make AI safer and more trustworthy, his research in differential privacy, federated learning, and geo-temporal intelligence has been published in top venues and supported by the National Science Foundation. His work has earned international recognition, including the U.S.–U.K. PETs Prize Challenge, and several U.S. patents in privacy-enhancing technologies.
At Hofstra, Dr. Asif brings AI to life through courses like AI in Business, AI in Healthcare, Deep Learning & Generative AI, and Responsible AI & Analytics—where students learn to build, understand, and lead with AI.
Syona Wadhwa is a sophomore at Hofstra University majoring in Supply Chain Management with a minor in Information Systems and Business Analytics. She currently serves as President of Hofstra’s Association for Supply Chain Management, after previously holding the role of Secretary. In addition to her leadership in ASCM, Syona is the Inventory Manager for the Zarb School of Business Merchandise Store, PR Chair for Hofstra’s SheEOs – Women in Business Club, and a Social Media Marketing Intern for ASCM NYC/LI. This summer, she will be joining The TJX Companies as a Distribution Operations Intern at their TJ Maxx Distribution Center in Pennsylvania. Syona is excited to serve as a moderator for this event and hopes to see you there!
Michael Pflanzer is sophomore Supply Chain Major and the VP of ASCM for Hofstra University. He works as the Employee Satisfaction Intern for the Zarb Store, a student run business at Hofstra University.
