These IAMI/GUEST approved courses provide a solid and thorough introduction to the role of a Junior Interior Stew getting you Superyacht ready!These courses are designed to fully equip you with all the skills you will need to complete all the responsibilities you will face onboard through 5 days (40 hours) of instruction in:
Unit 23- Introduction to Yachting and Yachting Life
Unit 32- Basic Housekeeping and Laundry Services
Unit 02- Basic Food & Beverages Service
Unit 03- Basic Wine, Bartending & Mixology
The package also includes the Highfield Qualifications (MCA approved) Level 2 Award in Food Safety at Sea, plus the all 5 modules during the STCW Basic Training Week:-
STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibility
STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness
STCW Elementary First Aid
STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
STCW Personal Survival Techniques
Once you have got your ENG1 Medical (essential before you start work, not needed for the course) you will have all that you need to apply for the GUEST Junior Stew Certificate of Competence (CoC). https://www.guest-program.com/coc-guest
Who Should Attend
Anyone looking to start their career within the interior department onboard a superyacht would be advised to start here! The GUEST Introduction training will give anyone a huge advantage to both finding the right employment as well as bringing the relevant skills and value to a first onboard position.
This is a high-end luxury industry and there is no room for errors. Heads of the interior department will not always have the time to adequately teach the expected basic skills needed to be able to effectively perform the Junior Stew role.
Certificates
On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the IAMI/GUEST official certificates for the Units completed, a Level 2 Food Safety at Sea award, plus an MCA approved STCW certificate.
The STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting and the Personal Survival Techniques elements expire after 5 years and you will need to attend a refresher course. The other elements do not expire.
