What even is a wetland, anyway? How do wetlands provide all the services they do, like water filtration, erosion and flooding control, and carbon sequestration? Join us at the Ore Dock Brewing Co. on November 21 at 7PM for Fundamentals of Wetland Science, a community lecture with Dr. Angela Lafuente, a Term Assistant Professor at NMU's Dept. of Earth, Environmental, and Geographical Sciences. Angela will discuss the science behind wetland formation and functionality, and why they are so important for our ecosystems.Admission is free and open to all ages. This event is co-hosted by Citizens for a Safe & Clean Lake Superior, Ore Dock Brewing Company, and NMU's Department of Earth, Environmental, and Geographical Sciences. Superior on Tap is a mini-series of community lectures about wetlands meant to illuminate the importance of protecting these critical ecosystems and the ways we can get there. Join us on November 21st, and get involved to help protect our wetlands!
