The Central Upper Peninsula Local Planning Body, the coordinating group for homeless services in the Central U.P. will host a march on Friday, November 22nd at 4:30pm with the theme of “Destination Home—Marching Forward from Shelter to Stability”The march will begin at Harlow Park (corner of Washington and Seventh Street), proceeding down Washington Street past the Room at the Inn and Warming Center, turning right on Third Street, and finish at the Marquette Commons.
Following the march at 5:00pm, people will gather at the Marquette Commons for speeches from community partners, advocates, and the presentation of the 2024 Helen McCormick Award. This award honors people who have put forth extraordinary effort to help the homeless in the Upper Peninsula.

This event aims to raise awareness about homelessness in our community and advocate for affordable housing in our area - as part of statewide initiative for Homelessness Awareness Month 2024, with the theme of Destination Home.
All proceeds raised from the event will go to the Marquette County Community Foundation Homelessness Fund and distributed among our homelessness services agencies.
Cozy refreshments will be provided. ☕️🍩
