About this Event
Are you feeling in need of a dedicated writing day with other writers to spur you on?!
The Write Place in Frome, Somerset, is offering Supercharged Writing Workshops every second Sunday of the month.
The sessions will be run by Carole Enahoro, a finalist for the Commonwealth Literary Prize and a writer of comedic satire as well as academic research. She has spent two decades running fiction workshops and courses.
Productivity: Carole will be using the Pomodoro Technique, as well as other productivity hacks. This involves breaking work down into manageable 25-minute bursts, separated by short breaks. Everyone shares their goals at the start and gives an update on progress at the mid-point and end of the morning session. All you need to bring with you is an idea of what you want to write on the day, your laptop, and a notebook. We will guide you through the session and explain how the Pomodoro Technique will help you to focus and write lots of lovely words.
No previous writing experience is required, and the Pomodoro Technique works for all wordsmiths – creative, academic, and even those working on websites or completing administrative tasks. You’ll be amazed at how much you achieve!
For those wanting to continue during the month, there is a WhatsApp group where you can arrange to co-write with other members.
Snacks/food: There are coffee and biscuits to keep you going - and the café at The Black Swan Arts Centre downstairs for more substantial fare. If you want to bring your own lunch, there is a fridge and mircowave in The Write Place chat room. We break for lunch and discussion in the chat room from 1-2pm.
Cost: £15 for non-members; £10 for The Write Place members (please use promo code: TWPMember)
Schedule: Arrive at The Write Place at 10am, on the top floor of Black Swan Arts, for a writing workshop that lasts until 3pm, with a break for lunch at 1pm. You can either bring your own lunch or order at the River House Café downstairs.
