About this Event

Super Stories! : Using Interactive Stories to Develop Communication Skills in the under fives

Come join us at Harmood Children's Centre, Ferdinand Street, London, UK

Please note that this seminar is only open to people working with children under 5 years old in Camden, London.

Stories are a great way of sharing information and experiences, developing language and emotions, and stimulating curiosity and imagination! By taking stories ‘off the page’ and making them interactive, children can have a go at joining in and sharing their own ideas. Run by speech and language therapists, this is a practical course where we will share lots of examples with participants, alongside the techniques which support engagement and promote communication skills.

The training will allow practitioners to:

• understand why narrative and storytelling is an important skill

• discuss and understand how interactive stories can help develop children’s communication

• identify communication development strategies that can be used in stories

• have a go at telling an interactive story

• explore ways to use this approach in their setting and where to find resources.
