About this Event
There's a lot riding on this election, with results that will impact America and the whole world. Join Sunrise RVA to talk about the impacts this election will have on ourselves, our communities, and the climate - then jump in with us in thinking about how we can fight to make the world we need for the ones we love (including a 'Know your Right's ' Training).
This event will involve moments to create connections/community, as well as conversations about how the climate movement and those invested in change can continue to push for justice past November 5th. We'll share feelings (both fears and joys) about our democracy, and use the energy of the election to engage in change. We believe that there will be much to fight for in both a Harris or Trump presidency, and so we are beginning the conversation here. Last but not least, we will have a brief know your rights/general civil disobedience training. We have to have the tools for the next 4 years to win, so let's build our toolbox now!
The event will be hosted at the wonderful Gold Lion Community Cafe (1012 Hull St)! Admission is free, though we will be collecting a donation at the door to be shared with the venue; come ready to get a drink or two/snag a bite to eat! Please 18+, as there will be alcohol at the venue.
P.S. We don't know how election day will go; stay tuned to Sunrise RVA's instagram! It may be that our community doesn't just need a space to process, but a place to take action (if Trump launches a coup?). We plan to be prepared for either! You don't have to ge ready, if you stay ready.
