Kansas songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Martin Farrell Jr. releases his third solo album “Western Changes" which explores the sub-genres of country, painting musical landscapes true to the classic styles while pushing the limits of what is considered standard. His storytelling inspired by legends of the past (Merle Haggard, John Prine, Waylon Jennings, Townes Van Zandt) Farrell carves out his own place within the confines of the ever changing world of 'country music' and delivers honest songs sung in a dusty baritone with hot-shit guitar pickin' dispersed throughout. Always pushing forward and working to stand out as a multi-instrumentalist, he adds any instrument he can get his hands on to the wheelhouse, and records using his vast collection of vintage microphones. Whether it's a country rock number about vacationing in space, a western swing tune about dreaming or a transcendent ode to a broken jukebox, Martin Farrell Jr. is always pushing the limits of his music with one foot firmly placed in the glory days of country music as the western world keeps falling into the future. Martin's music is described as "Cosmic Western" with elements of country, bluegrass, rock, blues and gospel.
