Speaker: Chiaki Torisu I have been learning Sogetsu Ikebana, the Japanese flower arrangement for about 13 years and I obtained the diploma to teach recently. So, I would like to use my time to teach for those who are also flower lovers. Growing up, I was exposed to both Western influences and Japan’s rich cultural heritage, and through this fusion, I have passionately promoted ikebana in New York. The lessons I learned from my father about respecting and appreciating nature align beautifully with the spirit of ikebana. Both emphasize harmony, balance, and the importance of returning to the natural world with gratitude and respect.
