Join us on Sunday, 6th October at 11am at St Eanswythe’s Primary School, Folkestone. Keeping it real - how documentaries make your life betterDocumentaries are clearly the best film genre [discuss], and co-programmer of the Folkestone Documentary Festival (and Oscar winner, although he doesn’t like to talk about that) Charlie Phillips will talk about what makes for a good documentary story. In a world where it’s easy to settle for true crime and celebrity docs because they’re easy to make and get money for, how do documentary-makers find more complicated stories and get them made and seen? Charlie will talk about what the life of a documentary producer looks like, and show some examples of very cool non-fiction films that you might not know about.
We’ll be belting out some sing-along classics with our band, hearing about what’s going on in Folkestone, and joining together as a community to celebrate being alive! What’s not to love! Everyone is welcome.
