THE BAND - Blue InterludeBlue Interlude is the name of a jazz tune recorded by Chocolate Dandies in 1938. It is also the name of this jazz band in The Hague that has been around for many years. In fact, the band took its name from that melancholy tune. Mind you, there is little melancholy about a Blue Interlude concert. The musicians love to swing and stomp just like the small bands that were in vogue in the 1920s and 1930s. Over the years, they have built an impressive band book, with tunes from Broadway musicals and movies, written by the likes of Cole Porter and Irving Berlin, as well as compositions by famous band leaders like Duke Ellington and Count Basie. Sounds familiar? Well, of course the golden age of jazz was also the time when the Lindy Hop was introduced by the hip jazz crowd. So, what do you think, do we have a
match? You betcha!
