About this Event
This volunteer event will be led by Dobbs Ferry High School Juniors as part of their IB Diploma CAS conservation project to perform volunteer work in their community. The event is focused on removing the invasive plants and vines which have grown back in an area which has been planted with native trees and shrubs during several past events in Dobbs Ferry's Chauncey Park, which sits along the Sawmill River adjacent to the Rivertowns Square shopping area and The Danforth apartment complex.
Volunteers will use shovels, rakes, bags and wheelbarrows to perform the work to protect the native plant species.
Volunteers should wear long pants and long sleeves, sturdy shoes, work gloves and bug spray. A limited number of shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows will be available, but if any volunteers can bring additional ones they would be very welcome!
