Inspired by the true story of India's first Sumo Wrestler, 'SumoDidi’ is a story of grit, determination, and will-power of a girl from a simple, middle-class Indian family who defies fat shaming by making the excess weight perceived to be her weakness into her strength and ultimately represents India on the global stage in the sport of Female SumoWrestling giving a firm response to all those who objectify women basis their weight.

Born in the eighties in the idyllic lanes of north Kolkata, Jayant progressed from chasing kites to chasing coveted degrees in business and commerce. He quit to pursue theatre and got drawn into storytelling. After completing his Bachelor's in Commerce, he moved to Mumbai and got intrigued by the world of advertising. He joined a production company as an intern and learned filmmaking on the job. He has been directing television commercials for 15 years. He enjoys observing people and telling stories of human dispositions that arouse curiosity and captivate. His penchant for realistic storytelling, drama, and squeezing the funny side of life is reflected in the diversity of his work.
