Katharine Hepburn stars as Jane Hudson, a middle aged, unmarried secretary from Akron, Ohio, who embarks on a dream vacation alone to Venice. Loneliness threatens to ruin her time until she meets an Italian antique store owner (Rossano Brazzi). Hepburn’s sensitive portrayal earned her a sixth Oscar nomination and David Lean’s atmospheric direction earned him a Best Director nod. Beautifully shot on location in Venice.
