About this Event
On Sunday, July 19, Summermusic 2026 will conclude with "JANTELAGEN," a program illuminating the Swedish cultural concept of Jantelagen, which translates to a focus on collective unity and humility over praise of the individual. Praised by the L. A. Times as a “quiet revelation” for his performances in theater, opera and film, award-winning tenor Curtis Bannister and pianist Mark Markham will present songs by composers from Richard Strauss and Ravel to Bernstein and Duke Ellington.
