About this Event
Would you like to learn more about identifying native British trees? Summer is a great time to do this - when the trees are in full leaf and starting to form fruit.
Come and join Neill Talbot from Avellana Ecology who will help you identify native tree species in the countryside at Great Avon Wood. Neill will also look at the surrounding flora as we walk through the different habitats at the site.
This walk will take place in the block of Great Avon Wood off Parsonage Lane where we started planting trees at the start of the year. There are also fantastic views across the surrounding countryside and a chance to enjoy the ancient Publow Oak, estimated as 500 years old and with a girth of 10 metres.
This is one of three tree identification events taking place this year - each exploring a different season and a different part of the Great Avon Wood site.
Further details and full travel directions will be sent out when you register your place. Please be aware that there are no hardstanding paths at Great Avon Wood and we are not able to allow dogs at events except for assistance dogs.
