Join us to celebrate the longest day of the year with a relaxing walk in the prairie setting and amongst the masterworks at theNate sculpture park. Director and Curator, Jeff Stevenson, will share the history of the park while volunteers and student docents will share their knowledge about favorite pieces.
Meet at the F Entrance to GovState, located on the East Side of campus, near the GIANT yellow sculpture (Illinois Landscape, No. 5 by John Henry, AKA French Fries)
Parking is free, Lot East 3 is closest to the F Entrance.
Restrooms available inside at F Entrance.
Wear shoes for walking on grass paths, dress in layers for the weather, bring other comfort items such as bug spray, water bottles, etc. The typical length of a tour is about a mile to a mile and a half - we customize depending on the group, weather, and ground conditions.
PRO TIP: come early and bring a picnic dinner to sit at Dan Peterman's "Running Table" - the 100 foot long picnic table sculpture made of recycled plastics. (Located next to "French Fries" and near F Entrance meeting location).
