Summer Solstice Nature Hike
Join us for a refreshing nature hike at Starved Rock State Park! Celebrate the Summer Solstice surrounded by the beauty of nature. Explore the trails, breathe in the fresh air, and immerse yourself in the wonders of the great outdoors with a park naturalist. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with nature on the longest day of the year!
Check in will occur at the Starved Rock Visitor Center located next to the Park's main parking lot along the Illinois River. This is not the same building as the Starved Rock Lodge.
Please dress for the weather and trails. Bring plenty of water to drink along the way. The hike will cover 2.5 miles of trails out to Sandstone Point and back to the visitor center. There will be 9 staircases to traverse and trail surfaces will vary from dirt, sandstone, and wood.
If you would like to bring your dog it must be well-behaved, socialized and accustomed to other people and dogs, and fully vaccinated.
