Join us as we celebrate the longest day of the year with our Dusk-till-Dawn walk starting at Beacon Hill. Are you ready to take on the challenge of night hiking and experience the South Downs like never before? This moonlit trek will take an average of 6 hours, covering 18km of the South Downs Way. You will finish at the trig point of Butser Hill, the highest point in Hampshire, as we welcome in the sunrise on the longest day. Join in with the celebrations and toast your achievement with breakfast available to purchase from Butser Kiosk.

How long does the walk take?
We have allocated 6 hours maximum to this walk, so you must be back at Butser Hill by 4.30am at the latest to ensure you do not miss the sunrise celebration.
This is based on an average person walking at the speed of 3.5km/hour. If you walk at a faster pace, please take this into consideration when booking your start time.
To fully embrace this unique event, we encourage you to take your time and enjoy each moment. If you finish the walk quickly, and intend on staying for the Sunrise Ceremony, please be prepared to spend some time at the top of Butser Hill. We will provide entertainment to keep you engaged, but we also recommend dressing warmly and planning for the cooler temperatures. We recommend having trousers, a warm fleece and a jacket at a minimum.
