About this Event
Explore the natural wonder of Florida with hands-on exploration, interactive games, field excursions, hikes, and more designed to nurture the love of the great outdoors. Students will learn about our incredible Florida wildlife, the interdependence of all living things and concepts of conservation crafted especially for the young mind.
Who should sign up for this?
- This sign up is intended for summer camp groups of 20 - 50 students per visit.
- Ages 5 and up
Tickets & Sign-Ups:
- Camps must sign up through Eventbrite. Click "Select a date," to begin the registration process.
Time & Location:
- Programs run from 9:00am to 12:30pm
- Programs occur on site at Circle B Bar Reserve: 4399 Winter Lake Road, Lakeland, FL. 33810
- All participants should plan to meet on the Discovery Center board walk, leading into the center.
Additional Information for those Attending:
- Participants should plan to be outdoors for up-to 3 hours.
- Dress to be outdoors and appropriate for current weather conditions. Close-toed shoes and long pants are recommended. Please pack waterproof gear for inclement weather and do not pack umbrellas.
- Make sure to apply sunscreen and bug spray before coming into the classroom.
- Participants should be able to hike up-to 2 miles.
- Be sure to bring a refillable water bottle with you.
Our Mission Statement:
Polk's Nature Discovery Center will provide hands-on learning experiences in an outdoor setting that engage students in investigating the value of Polk County's natural resources. Through this exploration students will discover the interconnection between water, wildlife and wilderness; understand their impact on the environment; and foster a sense of personal stewardship towards the environment.
