About this Event

Summer Ukulele Class for the absolute beginner!
Come join us for Beginning Ukulele Lessons at the Forest Gate Community Garden!
Whether you're a complete beginner, looking refresh long forgotten skills, or would like to come and show support and sing along, this event is perfect for you. We'll start with the basics of playing this fun and versatile instrument and will be able to sing and strum along to your favorite songs in no time!

Where: Forest Gate Community Garden
When: Sundays from June 16th – September 1, 2024
10:30am – 12pm.

Who: Ages 9+ (children under 12 will need supervision)


20 ukuleles will be on hand to use but those signing up in advance for the course will be given preference to available instruments.
If you have a ukulele and would like to join us for a refresher course, please feel free to bring along your ukulele.
If you would just like to come and enjoy a sing-a-long in the garden please join us.
You do not need to know how to read music.
The Forest Gate Community Garden is equipped with accessibility paths for those with mobility needs.
Beginning Ukulele Sessions with Misty Dampier was commissioned by Culture Within Newham as part of a ‘Summer of Wellbeing’ to take part across Newham from June-September 2024.
