About this Event
Join and for a FREE 1.5-hour class at SUP & Kayak skills day at southwest shore of Quail Lake Park. Choose from two different timeslots on two different days throughout the Summer. All equipment including your paddle, paddleboard or kayak and personal floatation device are included.
The purpose is to introduce this activity to folks who are beginner or first-timers. Our skills day focuses on providing access and education for folks who identify as Black, Indigenous, a Person of Color or an ally. All individuals regardless of background are welcome. Following the event, participants are welcome to picnic under the pavilion, explore the trails, or enjoy the shoreline. Swimming is not permitted at Quail Lake Park.
Diversify Whitewater is a nonprofit organization that works to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in paddlesports by removing the barriers that may exist for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and allies in kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and stand-up paddleboarding.
This event is supported by Diversify Whitewater, a nonprofit organization supporting inclusion & belonging in paddle sports.
Cost: These classes are FREE through sponsorship with Diversity Whitewater.
