About this Event

Welcome to the Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre's Summer Living History Day! Get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with creativity, exploration, and excitement. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a family on an adventure, or just passing through, our vibrant replica Iron Age village will transport you to the past, offering thrilling activities and engaging exhibits that celebrate our ancient heritage. Join us for a day of fun where history comes alive!

Come meet fellow craft enthusiasts, learn new techniques, and get inspired to create your own masterpieces. The day will include a range of hands-on craft stalls, demonstrations, and tours covering human life from the end of the Stone Age to the Roman period.

This event is suitable for all ages, with hands-on craft stalls ideal for children and young adults, face-to-face interaction with craft specialists, and ongoing craft demonstrations that depict how people perfected the crafts needed to survive in the ancient past.

The Living History day will be open from 10 am to 3 pm, with one ticket giving you access for the whole day, so you can dip in and out.

Guided museum and roundhouse tours by our wonderful heritage volunteers, and tours of the archaeological sites on the headland by local experts.
