Learn new skills and sharpen existing ones in this new series of fun and experimental workshops!
About this Event

Improv is a multifaceted comedic art form with many different approaches to create a fun and successful scene! Spend the summer digging into a new topic every Sunday or choose those that challenge and inspire you as an improviser!

Each week, one of our community members, performers, and aspiring teachers will offer a brand new workshop on a topic of their choice, digging deeper into many of the skills found in our core improv program or exploring aspects of performance not usually covered. These brand new workshops are a chance for aspiring teachers to sharpen their skills and experiment in subjects they are passionate for and for students to experience new perspectives in improv.

This class is recommended for students with some improv experience and who have completed at least Level Two Improv at Stomping Ground or the equivalent training including improvised scene work.

This Week's Topic is: The Other 80% - Nonverbal Behavior in Improv

Improv is most often done as a team, and one of the most important things a improv team needs to succeed on stage is effective communication. Being able to communicate, perceive, and react to nonverbal communication can be more powerful in a scene than saying the right words. This workshop will teach you tools to improve your nonverbal communication in scenes, both as a giver and receiver.

This one time drop in class is on Sunday from 3:30-6pm on May 17 and the instructor is Brady Dubose. All sales are final. Price of class does not include Eventbrite's service fee (3.7% + $1.79) and payment processing fee (2.9%) which will be added to the total price at checkout. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older.
