Class ExperienceFor adults who are high-masking, low-support needs, or late-diagnosed autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD. Not diagnosed? You’re welcome here, too! All materials provided.
Common themes discussed include:
• What is masking, and how to be more authentic
• Managing careers/college and how to start asking for accommodations
• Balancing space and alone time when raising a family or living with others
• Maintaining friendships past the initial connection
• Navigating dating and romantic relationships
• Maintaining your home and other adult responsibilities (bills, errands, etc.)
• Reviewing your past experiences through a neuroaffirming lens
Being a low-needs or high-functioning neurodivergent adult can be challenging. The demands of daily life are overwhelming, your emotional experiences are heightened, and even those closest to you don't always get you. Connecting with other adults who have autism, ADHD, or AuDHD can help late-diagnosed or undiagnosed neurodivergent folks feel less alone and better understand how neurodivergence affects them.
Even for those who may have had a childhood diagnosis, time makes it harder and harder to mask, and the older you are, the less accommodating the world can be toward your quirks...leading to increased burnout. If you’re struggling to know who you really are, are feeling like you don't fit in, want to improve how you feel about yourself, and/or are looking for guidance on better meeting your needs, connecting with other neurodivergent adults can help.
We’ll use open-ended and directed art-making to actively work on identity development, emotional expression, and social connection while learning more about the ways autism, ADHD, and AuDHD impact our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. As always here at Spotted Rabbit, our goal is to help folks embrace authenticity and build a life aligned with their own personal needs and values.
We know every creative journey is unique. Because our classes vary in structure, pace, and support level, we’ve created a quick self-check form at this group's checkout to help you determine whether it will be the best fit for you at this time. This group is designed for neurodivergent adults who attend independently and do not require caregiver or one-on-one support in group or at home. If you have moderate- or high-support needs, please check out our Art Class groups (https://spottedrabbitstudio.com/events/)
