Love entertaining when the weather gets warmer?Join Lori of Frances Woods flowers and Faye at the Blue Heron for an afternoon of flower arranging and wine tasting. At the end you’ll have a fabulous floral centrepiece to take home (and know how to recreate) and will have discovered three wines which will pair perfectly with summer dishes.
In the flowers part of the workshop, you’ll gain insights into the art of floral design and learn fundamental techniques for arranging flowers, including
? principles of balance, color coordination, and texture.
? mechanics of floral design, including how to structure arrangements, secure stems, and ensure stability.
? explore color theory in the context of floral arrangements, learning how to combine colours harmoniously and create visually stunning bouquets.
You’ll take home your finished floral arrangement. Feel free to bring any of your own personal favorite vases to work with.
Between flowers we’ll also talk about wine, Faye will present three wines from the Blue Heron collection that will pair well with summer foods. We’ll start with some bubbles before a characterful white and a red which will pair amazingly with barbecue meats. Along the way we’ll also talk about serving temperature and glassware so that at the end of the event you’ll not only have a stunning flower arrangement but also some ideas of how to pair your favourite summer dishes.
