Summer Development Event for Independents and Self Employed: Exploring Culture
Exploring Culture
Is the theme for this year’s development event for self-employed and independents to be held on Friday 21 June 2024 10:00 – 16:00 at The Studio in Birmingham
Birmingham CIPD Branch is pleased to welcome members and non-members to this event, where there will be plenty of opportunity for networking, sharing, learning and of course; growing myself and growing my business.
We have three amazing speakers who will bring the knowledge and expertise to the subject of exploring culture, something I know we talk about the importance of with our clients all the time.
We will also be joined by Kate Insley who will help us to unwind at the end of the day with a chair yoga session, suitable for all abilities!
Charlie Hart (Assoc.CIPD, MPSA) will explore culture from the perspective of someone who is multiple-neurodivergent (Autistic, ADHD, complex PTSD), bringing her personal experience to life and exploring how we can help our clients to better understand the needs of neurodivergent colleagues (diagnosed or otherwise), and why this matters.
Carol Howell (MBA Dip RSA Assoc.CIPD MSc) will explain the notion of ‘cultural intelligence’ CQ®, and in particular explore the significance of developing cultural intelligence ‘capabilities’ to support individuals/ organisations to work/interact effectively with people and groups with diverse cultural characteristics.
Heidi Blakeway leads the Fruitful Group and will be exploring emotional intelligence and how the EQ Agile tool can help us to better understand how we respond in certain situations and how to develop our emotional intelligence mindsets
Please join us at The Studio on Friday 21 June for what we are sure will be a stimulating and enjoyable day. We will begin at 9.30 for networking.
