JLS Mission Equine Summer Equestrian Program 2024Our Summer Equestrian Program is designed for boys and girls ages 7 and up, whether you are new to horses or an experienced rider. Come ride with us this summer!
Daily Riding Lessons
1 hr group lessons
Horsemanship
Learn what it takes to care for a horse daily to include bringing horses to and from pasture, stall cleaning, feeding and more. Hands-on experience!
Use techniques for grooming and bathing for horse shows.
Learn to braid.
Learn to bandage.
Learn tack cleaning skills.
Riders will learn and review basic horse knowledge, nutrition, conformation, hoof/shoeing, Bandaging, horse health and more!
Review the equestrian disciplines!
Our school horses range from 12 hand ponies to 16.3 hand horses.
Time: 9am - 1pm
Age: 7 - 16, preschool riders that are currently enrolled in lessons at ODF are accepted.
Pricing: $375 ($100 non refundable deposit due with registration - through Venmo @jennifer-smith-704)
Experience: Riders with no horse experienced through educated equestrians are welcome.
Attire: Campers are required to wear boots with a hard flat sole and 1/2 inch heel that covers the ankles (a paddock boot). SNEAKERS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Long close fitting pants are required during mounted lessons (breeches, leggings, jeans). ASTM/SEI approved helmets are required while mounted. (We can provide helmets)
What to bring: An extra change of clothes, snacks, water, sunscreen and bug spray!
