Lily Lake's Farm Camp gives kids a full week inside the world of working farms. They'll get hands-on with goats, chickens, and farm dogs, learning how to interact with, feed, and care for each animal responsibly. Yes, they can hold the chickens and pet and feed the goats!Beyond the animals, campers dig into the plant side of farm life: what crops need to survive, how a garden grows from seed to harvest, and what it takes to manage a working farm. They'll get their hands in the soil in Lily Lake's on-site garden, planting and tending crops as part of the week's work. The week rounds out with a look at agriculture in the United States and Kansas's own place in the food system.
Farm Camp builds the kind of knowledge that connects kids to where their food comes from and the people who produce it.
