Camping at CHAPS – Collingham Horse Adventure Park (Near Newark, Notts)Enjoy a fun, relaxed weekend with your horse! This camp is all about learning, building confidence and having a great time away with your horse in a friendly, no-pressure environment.
Choose Your Group:
Ridden Open Group
For confident riders and horses happy in a group.
Walk and trot required (canter optional).
CHAPS course can be partly done in-hand if needed.
In-Hand / Novice / Nervous Group
Perfect for young, green, novice, nervous, or retired horses.
Ideal for riders wanting an in-hand only option or the pressure of riding removed.
Can ride parts of the CHAPS course if preferred.
Weekend Timetable:
Ridden Open Group:
Saturday – CHAPS course + practical polework (trail/TREC/WE/quadrille style polework focusing on footwork and feel)
Sunday – CHAPS course + trick training
In-Hand / Novice / Nervous Group:
Saturday – CHAPS course + groundwork (trick training, starting neck rope, liberty work)
Sunday – CHAPS course + trick training
Saturday: Separate AM session & PM session
Sunday: Combined AM session only, last morning session to be finished by either 11.30am or 1.30pm depending on groups.
Arrival:
Friday 4–7pm to settle in and set up.
Hacking allowed on arrival (at own risk)
Latest arrival by 7pm only.
Saturday AM arrivals also fine from 9am - where possible Saturday AM arrivals will be placed in later AM group.
Departure:
Camp finishes Sunday last morning session by 1.30pm - option to stay on site until 3.30pm for hacking/lunch/etc at your own risk.
£270pp
£100 deposit to secure place.
Good to Know:
Horses paddocked overnight – bring electric fencing
No stables available
Small camps (12 people roughly, groups of 3–4 horses)
Additional trainer(s) depending on numbers
Self-catering weekend
Toilet and shower block on site
Outdoor event – bring suitable clothing; gazebo/awning recommended
Sessions may change for safety in poor weather
Extra Costs:
Electric hook-up: £12/night (limited spaces)
Extra people: £10/person/day
Extra vehicles: £10/vehicle/day
Two horses sharing the sessions over the weekend*: £50/weekend (if you have 2 horses you wish to bring on one booking space and split the sessions with, by prior agreement only)
Companion horses*: by prior agreement only, £30/weekend
Multiple horses must be happy alone and sharing a small paddock
