Summer Bedhead's diverse sound ranges from melancholic indie pop to alt-rock with raging and raw vocals. The trio's nostalgic and intimate expression can sometimes make you feel like you’re simply overhearing someone in their bedroom as they soulfully sing out their thoughts. Critiquing social norms or emotionally sorting, the lyrics can be contemplative or charismatic and silly like you’ve walked into someone doing karaoke with their hairbrush.
Colorado-based Jack Campbell & the Head Mess draws on the Minneapolis punk rock tradition of stuffing infectious pop earworms and unique harmonic flavors into a gritty garage rock package. Their danceable indie rock veneer, akin to influences such as Sondre Lerche, the Replacements, and Elvis Costello, conceals deeper themes of mental health and relationship struggles.
